Radiation Safety During Sacral Neuromodulation Implantation

This is a 40-minute online course designed to educate surgeons regarding radiation exposure and safety practices during implantation of sacral neuromodulation.  

Course Objectives:

1. Differentiate between types of radiation exposure and the potential effects on the human body.
2. Describe the layout of a C-arm and explain how common system settings influence image quality and raidation exposure. 
3. Demonstrate correct use and placement of shielding to reduce radiation exposure. 
4. Implement radiation-reduction techniques during sacral neuromodulation implantation.
