Course Description
This course introduces SAMHSA’s Strategic Prevention Framework (SPF), an evidence-based model for planning, implementing, and evaluating substance misuse prevention efforts. Learners gain a foundational understanding of the SPF’s five steps and how they work together to support effective, data-driven prevention strategies in communities.
Objectives
Across three modules, you will learn to:

Recognize the role of community context, readiness, and capacity in effective prevention.

Understand how evidence-based strategies support positive prevention outcomes.

Course Length
The entire course will take about 1.5 hours to complete in one sitting; however, you have the ability to save your progress and return at any time.
Course Materials
All students will receive access to key terms used throughout the course, accessible activity companion guides, and a generalized course resource guide. Students will have access to materials upon completion of the respective sections and can be re-accessed at any time after completion.
After all modules are complete and the survey is submitted, the downloadable Certificate of Completion will be unlocked.
