Full course description
Course Description
This course provides learners with an understanding of SAMHSA’s Strategic Prevention Framework (SPF) which is an evidence-based model for planning, implementing, and evaluating substance misuse prevention efforts. Adherence to the principles in the framework increases the likelihood that prevention efforts will produce anticipated outcomes, reduce harmful behaviors and keep communities healthy and safe. Through real world examples, and guided activities, participants explore how the SPF’s five steps: Assessment, Capacity Building, Planning, Implementation, and Evaluation work together in a dynamic, data-driven cycle. The course provides learners the foundational knowledge needed to support effective prevention strategies in their communities.
