Training provided by Gladys Noll Alvarez, LISW, IECMH-E, Trauma Informed Care Project Coordinator, Orchard Place Child Guidance Center.
This training will focus on the impact of trauma on brain development. It will cover how chronic stress/trauma can impact behaviors in all individuals, adults, and children/youth, possibly sending into survival mode.
Participants will be able to:
- Identify the three types of stress
- Recognize signs of individuals in survival mode of flight, fight, freeze.
- Explain the importance of serve & return, temperament, state, and sensory thresholds on behaviors.
