Course Information
The Iowa Online Nurse Residency course is a comprehensive year-long course and includes topics, such as:
- introduction to transition stages,
- communication with all members of a health care team to deliver safe,
- high quality care;
- survival strategies,
- journaling and reflecting;
- how to develop a professional growth plan.
Course is online (Arranged time/day on World Wide Web) and Nurse Residents MEET Face to Face with their workplace mentor/preceptor as assigned by their employer for successful application of the course objectives (Arranged time/day/location). All course material is delivered through Canvas platform.
In addition, the course will MEET for synchronous live webinars (real-time discussion) with the course primary instructor (Nurse Residency Program Manager).
Participants must complete all online modules, attend 10/12 cohort discussions, and complete a residency project to be awarded 36 contact hours. Partial credit will not be awarded for this program.
