Dementia Training to Promote Involvement in Meaningful Activities will increase the skills and abilities of those who work with older adults with dementia in long-term care settings. The training addresses recognizing unmet activity needs among persons with dementia, applying appropriate activity assessment methods, adjusting care routines to include enjoyable activities, and monitoring outcomes related to activity involvement. You can take this training program as an individual, or your facility can offer it in a group setting.

This 7-hour evidence-based program is presented in 4 parts. Each part includes a video presentation, printable handouts, and a work place exercise designed to enhance learning by putting the training into practice.

A Certificate of Completion is available at the conclusion of the program.

If you would like to offer this training program in a group setting for your staff, please contact us at geriatric-education@uiowa.edu
